Tape Casting Process Engineer

Your mission
As a Tape Casting Production Technology Engineer at Elcogen, your mission is to lead the development, scaling up, and optimization of new tape-casting and laser-cutting production lines. You will drive the design, specification, selection, installation, commissioning, and ramp-up of manufacturing lines, ensuring validation and continuous improvement to enhance productivity. Your role is pivotal in supporting our industrialization projects and advancing our green hydrogen technology.
Your tasks
  • Development of Production Lines: Lead the development and scaling up of new tape casting and laser cutting production lines and processes.
  • Equipment Selection and Engineering: Participate in the selection, engineering, manufacturing, and FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) of process equipment and tools.
  • Installation and Commissioning: Drive the installation, commissioning, SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), validation, and support manufacturing during the ramp-up of new production equipment in both existing and new facilities.
  • Capacity and Yield Assessment: Assess the capacity and yield of new production lines to meet productivity targets.
  • Troubleshooting and Optimization: Monitor production parameters during ramp-up, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to maintain quality and productivity schedules.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement and LEAN principles, collecting and transferring lessons learned, data, and information across different lines and facilities.
  • Training: Train manufacturing personnel on new processes and equipment, ensuring smooth implementation and adherence to standard operating procedures.


As a Tape-casting process Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for industrialization projects. This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, experience with industrial equipment, experience with scaling-up of production processes and the ability to analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
Your profile
  • Education: Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electronics, Ceramic Industry, or a relevant field.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in chemical, electronic, or ceramic technology within industrial companies, specifically in tape casting, cutting, and drying process commissioning and ramp-up. Experience in laser cutting process commissioning is required.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with manufacturing processes, profile creation, engineering drawings, and technical specifications. Interface experience with R&D and product development teams.
  • Work Environment: Thrive in multicultural, international environments, with exposure to dynamic and innovative settings.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong goal orientation, curiosity, and eagerness to learn. Excellent English written and oral skills (knowledge of Estonian, Russian, Finnish, or other languages is a plus).
