Technical Procurement Engineer

Your mission
Are you passionate about optimizing supply chains, ensuring high-quality manufacturing, and driving cost-efficient procurement? Join Elcogen, a leader in solid oxide fuel cell and electrolyzer technology, as a Technical Procurement Engineer and play a key role in securing high-performance components that drive our cutting-edge products. 

In this role, you will identify, evaluate, and recommend the best suppliers and outsourced manufacturing partners for critical Elcogen components. You will ensure that materials, components, and subcontracted processes align with our strict design specifications, quality standards, and industry regulations—all while optimizing costs and mitigating supply chain risks. 

Additionally, you will oversee change management, ensuring seamless coordination between stakeholders whenever process or equipment updates impact product properties or performance.
Your tasks
  • Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers, proactively resolving issues to minimize disruptions to production and operations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure supplier capability, capacity, quality, and timely deliveries.
  • Conduct ongoing market research to identify new suppliers, assess market trends, and strengthen relationships with existing partners.
  • Work with subcontractors to implement scalable, high-volume manufacturing methods that achieve cost, delivery, and quality targets.
  • Analyze subcontractor processes and propose efficiency improvements while maintaining high standards
  • Monitor and mitigate risks related to long lead times and supply shortages.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including datasheets, specifications, and compliance certificates.
  • Identify cost-effective alternatives while maintaining quality and functionality.
  • Support product development by resolving technical issues related to components and subcontracted manufacturing processes.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Your profile
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven background in technical procurement, preferably in a high-tech or manufacturing industry.
  • Expertise in industrialization and process transfer: Experience in scaling up manufacturing and onboarding new subcontractors.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills: Ability to assess technical specifications, optimize costs, and negotiate favorable supplier agreements.
  • Technical proficiency: Understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes, ERP systems, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Problem-solving mindset: Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented: Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and with external partners.
  • Flexibility to travel: Willingness to visit subcontractor sites during industrialization and production ramp-up phases.
