Your mission
As the Group Director of Supply Chain and Logistics your mission is to lead and optimize the company’s end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations, with a focus on strategic procurement and supplier development. The role ensures alignment with corporate objectives, supports industrial scale-up, and drives operational excellence across sourcing, procurement, logistics, and supplier quality.
Your tasks
Purchasing
- Oversee the purchasing function to effectively support the company day by day operations
- Work closely with production planning and logistics to balance inventory levels, reduce lead times, and avoid material shortages or excess stock. Implement just-in-time (JIT) or vendor-managed inventory (VMI) strategies where applicable.
Strategic Procurement & Sourcing
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for direct and indirect materials, capital equipment, and services.
- Collaborate with R&D, industrialization and engineering teams to ensure supplier capabilities align with product development and industrialization needs
- Lead sourcing initiatives for subcontracted production of components, ensuring alignment with technical specifications, cost targets, and delivery timelines.
- Identify, evaluate, onboard and maintain long term relations with strategic suppliers and manufacturing partners to support business growth and innovation.
- Stay informed about emerging materials, technologies, and manufacturing methods relevant to fuel cell production. Engage with innovative suppliers and research institutions to support product development and industrialization
Supplier Quality, Compliance and Data analytics
- Oversee supplier prequalification and audits
- Provide, maintain and distribute supplier performance evaluations and supply chain data analytics
- Supplier compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Contract Negotiation & Risk Management
- Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and risk mitigation.
- Establish robust supplier agreements that support scalability, flexibility, and innovation.
Logistics & Distribution
- Design and implement logistics strategies to optimize transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Ensure efficient coordination of inbound and outbound shipments, minimizing costs and lead times.
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
- Lead the corporate S&OP process, ensuring cross-functional alignment and transparency.
- Collaborate with operations, finance, and commercial teams to balance supply and demand effectively.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and lead a high-performing supply chain and logistics team.
- Set clear goals, monitor performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
In this role you will report to the Chief Operating Officer, and you will be a pivotal member of the Operations Management Team.
The role can be based in Tallinn, Estonia, or in Helsinki, Finland.
Your profile
Your main experience and education
- Higher education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in supply chain, logistics, and procurement leadership roles, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors
- Strong background in strategic sourcing, equipment procurement, and subcontracted production
- Used to interface and cooperate with R&D, and/or industrialization departments since the early stage of the Product Development journey
- Demonstrated success in scaling operations and deploying emerging technologies to market
- Familiarity with supply chain management systems and digital tools
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards
