Strategic Procurement Specialist

Your mission
As a Strategic Procurement Specialist at Elcogen, you will take ownership of procurement strategies related to Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) stack and stack module components

This highly cross-functional role will require strong collaboration with R&D, engineering, production, and supplier partners to ensure cost-effective, scalable, and sustainable sourcing solutions that support our technology and growth goals.
 
Your ability to manage technical and strategic procurement challenges will be critical to our success as we industrialize clean energy innovation.
Your tasks
 
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key component categories.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and assess market trends.
  • Lead supplier onboarding to ensure alignment with quality, cost, delivery, and sustainability targets.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage long-term supplier relationships.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory, ESG, and quality standards.
  • Track and mitigate risks related to lead times, supply shortages, and single-source dependencies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as the primary contact for suppliers and resolve supply chain or quality issues.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, and Production teams to align procurement strategies with product development and industrialization.
  • Support product design changes and ensure process changes are communicated effectively.
  • Coordinate change management processes affecting product properties or performance.
Operational & Technical Procurement Excellence
  • Evaluate supplier capability, capacity, and delivery performance.
  • Ensure implementation of high-volume manufacturing methods that meet cost, quality, and lead-time targets.
  • Maintain and manage technical documentation such as datasheets, specifications, and compliance certificates.
  • Drive cost reduction, lead time optimization, and value engineering efforts.
  • Propose process improvements at subcontractor sites to enhance efficiency while maintaining quality.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor procurement KPIs and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to a proactive, data-driven, and sustainable procurement culture.
 
Your profile
 
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience:
  • Proven experience in strategic procurement, preferably in clean tech, automotive, or advanced manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with fuel cell components, electrolyzers, or similar complex systems is a strong plus.
  • Experience in supplier industrialization, high-volume manufacturing, and outsourcing.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled in reading technical specifications and driving cost-performance trade-offs.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement analytics tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail, resilience under pressure, and a solution-oriented mindset.
 
Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to travel to supplier sites to support industrialization and ramp-up activities.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
